Looking ahead to Christmas

As the mornings and evenings grow darker and the heating is turned up so thoughts begin to turn to Christmas. The high street shops are quickly starting to fill their shelves with all manner of goodies and towns up and down the country are hanging Christmas lights across the streets.

Of course, the immediate response by everyone is always, “But it’s so early!”

Well, with less than 2 months to go it is far from being too early, especially if you are trying to get a special gift for those friends and family who live overseas.

For all those people who wish to send something from the UK to sunnier climes abroad, it is worth taking notice of the last posting dates as provided by the Royal Mail. For the United States and Canada this is December 10, and for Australia and New Zealand it is slightly earlier on December 6. These dates also work pretty much in reverse – to send something from the US to Scotland for example, then December 10 is also the right date (varying slightly depending on how much you are willing to pay, that is!).

One of the great things about Trees of Scotland is that our gifts don’t have to be posted. When you buy a tree for yourself or as a gift you will receive a package containing a map and certificate, but we offer everyone the chance to get these documents online. In fact, that is our preferred option. We’re pretty keen on doing the right thing by the environment round here, as you may have guessed!

So, if you are thinking of buying one of our fantastic dedicated trees with a plaque bearing your dedication then now is the time to do it!

What our clients say

My father lives in Sacramento, but he has never forgotten his Scottish roots. His 60th was a special occasion and this was the perfect gift to reconnect him with the old country.

We wanted to reward the team with something special … the fact that it was environmentally friendly just made it the perfect solution. Next year we hope to visit our tree together.

When my aunt passed away we didn’t know what we should do. But dedicating a tree in the Scottish highlands seemed so fitting – I think it really helped us, and I’m sure she would have loved it too.
